agogos

Agogos are signalled by tapping the thumb and first finger.

The Caixa, or 'snare' drum, is signalled with the index fingers of both hands, imitating the drummers' use of their sticks.

The Repenique, the call and response drum, is signalled with the index and little finger as shown.

shaker

The shaker, also known as the 'gansa' and 'chocalho', is indicated with both hands holding pretending to hold the instrument.

Surdus, the band's backline, are indicated as a whole by facing the band and moving the arms as shown.

The Low Surdu (or Surdu No.1) is signalled by holding the elbow of the other arm.

The Mid Surdu (or Surdu No.2) is signalled by holding the middle of the other arm.

The Top Surdu (or Surdu No.3) is signalled by holding the top of the other arm.

The Tamborim is signalled by by placing two fingers of one hand on the palm of the other.
